Understanding the new PSA Squash Tour structure

Next week Alex Haydon and Joseph White will be in Canada for the 2024 NASH Cup, which has been designated as a Copper event on the PSA Squash Tour.
If that term is unfamiliar to you, don’t be alarmed. The PSA has restructured and rebranded all international events with the aim of developing a more stable calendar of top tier tournaments in the lead-up to LA 2028, in addition to placing greater emphasis on second and third tier events.
The PSA Tour has been rebranded as the PSA Squash Tour and it features four tiers of events:
-
World Events
-
Challenger Events
-
Satellite Events
-
Federation Events
At the top level, there will be a maximum of 57 men’s and women’s World Events each season, with new designations of Diamond and Cooper events. The hierarchy of World Events is Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Copper.
Just two Diamond events will be held this season - the Egyptian and British Opens - with a minimum of $600,000 in prizemoney for these events.
Copper-tier events offer a minimum of $25,000 in total compensation per division.
Challenger Events will continue to give the world’s most exciting up-and-coming players the opportunity to compete against some of squash’s most experienced professionals, with tournaments offering prizemoney between $3,000 and $15,000.
Satellite Events and Federation Events are designed to create a pathway for players to join the professional circuit.
Federation Events are run under the auspices of the World Squash Federation, regional federations or national federations.
