The Australian Institute of Sport's National Athlete Categorisation Framework (NACF) is used by state institutes/academies and National Sporting Organisation's to inform planning and prioritise support to Australian athletes.

The NACF has been developed to provide a consistent basis, both within and across sports to:

  • Identify the athletes with the greatest potential to contribute to Australia consistently winning medals at major international events;
  • Inform the prioritisation of support to these athletes; and
  • Track their performance over time.

Squash Australia completed a review of its Athlete Categorisation Criteria and categorisation processes in 2021 in order to align with the NACF. The updated criteria took effect from May 2021 .

More information on the NACF is available on the AIS website.
