The World Squash Coaching Bridging Course allows coaches with lapsed certification to regain accreditation at their former level. Eligible applicants must meet minimum coaching experience requirements, provide supporting documents, and complete online and practical tasks as required.

What is the Bridging Course

The World Squash Coaching Bridging Course allows previously certified coaches, whose certification has lapsed, to regain their recognition and return to active accreditation in Australia. It provides a structured pathway to recertify at the equivalent level previously achieved while acknowledging prior coaching experience.

How is the Bridging Course applied

Applications are assessed individually to ensure eligibility and experience requirements are met. Coaches must bridge only to their former certification level and hold a current Squash Australia membership. The course includes online requirements such as completing the World Squash Coaching Foundation Course, Australian Sports Commission modules, Sport Integrity Australia and World Squash Officiating courses, and maintaining valid checks and memberships. Coaches bridging into Level 2 and 3 must also complete practical assessments, including lesson plans or annual player plans, which are reviewed by Tutors. Certification is only granted once two Tutors deem the candidate competent, and it remains valid only with a current SPIN registration and Working with Children Check.

Who is eligible

Eligibility is limited to coaches who held an Australia Squash Coaching Certification and who have been actively coaching since that time. Minimum coaching experience is required: four years for Level 1, six years for Level 2, and ten years for Level 3. Applicants must provide evidence of their previous certification, a coaching resume or logbook, and a letter of recommendation from an approved source. Additional qualifications or professional development records may also be submitted to support the application. Only complete applications will be considered, and one review is permitted if the initial application is unsuccessful.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit a completed application with all required supporting documents and pay the relevant fees. The application fee is $35 for all levels, with additional Bridging Course fees of $100 for Level 1, $185 for Level 2, and $270 for Level 3. These fees include membership with World Squash Coaching, assessment by Tutors, directory listing, and access to professional development initiatives. Additional fees apply for the WSF SPIN membership and the World Squash Coaching Foundation Course.
