The Squash Australia Level 2 Coaching Course prepares coaches to deliver and evaluate advanced training programs for players competing at state and national levels. It combines online modules with a four-day practical course, focusing on skill analysis, teaching methods, and effective feedback. Certification is valid for three years and is aligned with World Squash Coaching standard.

What is the Level 2 Coaching Course

The Level 2 Coaching Course develops coaches’ ability to analyse intermediate squash skills, detect and correct faults, and implement sequential skill progression. Coaches are trained to apply appropriate coaching styles, demonstrate effective communication, and mentor players with structured strategies. The course ensures coaches can design and evaluate training programs that enhance player performance in advanced competitive environments.

How is the Course Applied

The course includes online learning and a four-day practical workshop. Participants must complete requirements such as World Squash Officiating Level 0, Sport Integrity Australia courses, First Aid and CPR, and register for a WSF SPIN membership. Assessment involves active participation, on-court demonstrations, and submission of four detailed lesson plans post-course. Certification is only valid with a current SPIN membership and Working with Children Check. Recertification requires evidence of continued coaching practice, professional development, and achievement of required points.

Who is Eligible

Applicants must be at least 16 years old, hold a Squash Australia Support level membership, and have a minimum of one year of active coaching experience as a certified Level 1 Coach. A valid Working with Children Check, First Aid qualification, and CPR certificate are required. Recognition of Prior Learning is available for both domestic and international coaches who can provide evidence of relevant certification and experience.
