Siblings battle it out in the first doubles tournament of the Australian Junior Open

This is the first doubles event that has happened in the Australian Junior Open and it offered up a ‘battle of the siblings’ in the Under 19 Mixed Doubles final. Erin Classen and Dylan Classen took on Maggie Goodman and Sam Goodman. After successful results for the participants in the individual’s event, their match up looked to be a great battle on paper. However, the Classens were able to get out on top.

Twenty-four players descended on Redcliffe from around the country for the Moreton Bay PSA Satellite, which wrapped up yesterday with two thrilling finals. The Women’s final between fifth seed Tamika Hunt and third seed Jess Turnbull drew a solid crowd, with Hunt coming out strong in the first game with a 6-0 lead.

Semi-Final action delights local crowd in the Moreton Bay PSA Satellite

Semi Finals action provided another day of quality action for local crowds at Moreton Bay PSA Satellite at Redcliffe PCYC. The first semi-final saw the women take to the court with top seed Rachael Grinham taking on fifth seed Tamika Hunt. Hunt pushed ahead early in the match, scoring a 2-0 lead, but a strong fight back from Grinham saw her win the next 2-games to push the opening semi to a fifth set.
