Winners Announced for 2026 Squash Australia Awards

Published Sun 15 Mar 2026

On Saturday 14 March, the squash community celebrated another year of incredible achievements and milestones with the 2026 Squash Australian Open Gala Luncheon and Squash Australia Annual Awards at the Rydges South Bank.

A highlight of the event was Australian squash legend Heather McKay's induction into the PSA Hall of Fame. McKay, widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in squash history, dominated the sport throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Her induction into the PSA Hall of Fame recognises not only her extraordinary career but also her lasting influence across generations of players.

The Squash Australia Awards recognised the outstanding individuals, clubs and volunteers who continue to drive the sport forward.

Leading the on-court honours were Joseph White and Alexandra Haydon, who were named the David Palmer Male Player of the Year and Michelle Martin Female Player of the Year respectively, recognising their exceptional performances over the past year.

The next generation of Australian squash was also celebrated with Jackon Wylie claiming the Chris Robertson Junior Player of the Year (Male) award and Emmy Lamb receiving the Sarah Fitz-Gerald Junior Player of the Year (Female) honour. Lucas Wheeler was also recognised for this contribution to the development of young athletes, taking out the Beverly Gould Service to Juniors Award.

In the masters ranks, Dianne Elliot was named Masters Player of the Year.

Off the court, the awards also highlighted the people who help the sport thrive at every level. Mulgrave Country Club Squash & Racquetball was named Club of the Year and the vital role of volunteers was also celebrated with Michelle Rowles and Brad Grinter both named Volunteer of the Year for their dedication and impact within the squash community.

The luncheon also welcomed two new inductees into the Squash Australia Hall of Fame with Damien Green and Dean Willams awarded the great honour.
