WA Open International 2026 Returns with Strong Australian and International Fields

The WA Open International 2026 is set to kick off this week in Mirrabooka, Western Australia from 3-7 June.

This tournament will be the second event of the 2026 Australian Squash Tour circuit and will feature both Australian and international athletes competing for the men's and women's title.

Occupying the top line of the men’s draw is Japan’s Naoki Hayashi. The 2025 Cairns Squash International winner and current world #132, will be looking to add to his PSA  titles in WA.

Western Australian local Erin Classen and world #136 sits at the top of the women's draw at this year's WA Open International. A quarter finalist in 2025, she will be looking to make her way through to the final.

Australia’s Brendan McDonald enters the tournament as the top Australian seed in the men’s draw and second seed overall. Fellow Aussies Thomas Scott, Nicholas Calvert, David Turner and Connor Hayes are all in the top 10 seeds for the event.

In the women's draw, 12 players will be battling it out for the title of 2026 WA Open International Women’s champion including fellow Australian and world #159, Rema Muniandy, who will enter the women's tournament as the second seed.

Closing out the Australian women competing, Hannah Slyth and Pascale Louka find themselves placed as the fourth and sixth seeds respectively.

Alongside the WA Open International, 132 athletes across Masters, Juniors, Novice Juniors and adults will participate in the graded event.

Leigh Kaye, General Manager of Squash Western Australia, is looking forward to the tournament.

“We are really pleased with the turn out and are looking forward to an event filled tournament,” she said.

“Erin Classen is our local WA player who is seeded one in the Women's PSA event. We would love to have a local win the WA Open.”

All Australian players competing in the tournament will be accumulating points towards the Australian Squash Tour standings.
