Victorian Open set to showcase top Australian and International talent

The Australian Squash Tour continues this week as the 2026 Victorian Open heads to Mulgrave Country Club in Melbourne from 29 July to 2 August.

The PSA Challenger M6 W6 event will feature 48 professional players competing across the men's and women's draws, with the Victorian Open title up for grabs following the absence of defending champions Noa Romero (Spain) and Addeen Idrakie (Malaysia).

Leading the Australian charge are Victorian pair Dylan Molinaro and Sarah Cardwell, who enter the tournament as the top seeds in their respective draws.

Molinaro will be looking to claim his maiden Victorian Open title on home soil, while Cardwell is aiming to lift the trophy for a second time after winning the event in 2019.

Cardwell is expected to face strong competition throughout the week, including sixth seed Erisa Sano Herring of Japan. Sano Herring arrives in Melbourne in strong form after claiming the Wodonga Open title in June and producing impressive performances throughout the recent Bega and Devonport Opens.

In the men's draw, Welshman Owain Taylor headlines the challengers as the second seed following his recent City of Devonport Tasmanian Open triumph.

Alongside the professional event, the Victorian Open's graded competition continues to grow, with five graded divisions expected to attract around 80 players from across the country.

Competition & Marketing Coordinator for Squash & Racquetball Victoria, David Cowell, said the Victorian Open continues to establish itself as one of the premier tournaments on the Australian calendar.

"The 2026 Victorian Open is shaping up to be one of the biggest events in Victoria and Melbourne, with 48 professional players descending on Mulgrave Country Club to compete," Cowell said.

"With last year's champions not returning to defend their titles, both the men's and women's draws are wide open, and we're expecting some outstanding squash across the week."

All Australian players competing in the PSA event will also earn valuable points towards the Australian Squash Tour standings.

Fans can watch all the action live, with matches on Courts 1 and 2 streamed throughout the tournament via Squash TV Live on YouTube.
