Unleash Squash Stars at Your School to kick off 2026

Ready to serve up something new? Applications for Sporting Schools grants open at 8:00AM AEDT on Monday October 27 to bring the Squash Stars program to your school in Term 1, 2026!

Interested schools have until 5:00PM AEDT, Friday 14 November to apply for funding via the ‘Sporting Schools’ portal.

Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. The Sporting Schools program aligns to the Play Well Sport Participation Strategy through Priority area 2, embedding a culture of sport in and around schools to drive lifelong involvement in sport.

Squash Stars, in partnership with Dunlop Sports Australia, is the participation program developed through collaboration with the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation South Australia (ACHPER SA).

Adapted for the school setting, Squash Stars introduces school aged children in years 3 - 6 to the fundamental and physical elements of squash in a fun and inclusive setting. Designed in collaboration with ACHPER (SA) to develop fundamental movement and squash related skills, Squash Stars is delivered in line with core curriculum outcomes and requirements.

A network of experienced and enthusiastic Squash Stars Providers and Leaders are available to deliver programs across Australia. Additionally, Squash Australia has developed resources to facilitate teacher delivered programs that are flexible and suit the needs of individual schools.

The program is already being rolled out in dozens of schools throughout Australia with many more expected to sign up for the new year.

How to bring Squash Stars to your school

  1. Check out Squash Stars on the Sporting Schools website.
  2. Read through program eligibility and information.
  3. Apply for funding through your 'My Sporting Schools' portal. Be sure to select Squash as your sport of choice.
