The NSW Open 2026 Returns to Thornleigh

Published Tue 03 Nov 2026

The NSW Open returns to Thornleigh Squash & Fitness from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November.

As Squash NSW’s major adult championship, the NSW Open brings together the state’s best open, masters and junior players for high-quality competition. It runs alongside the PSA Challenger 6, a professional men’s and women’s tournament played earlier in the week. With both events sharing the courts at Thornleigh Squash & Fitness, it’s the perfect chance to get up close to professional squash at its best.

The week truly is for everyone, with the AJST Bronze Event giving junior players an introduction to tournament squash.

This year also sees the return of the Gala Dinner on Saturday 7 November, celebrating both the PSA Challenger 6 champions and the Squash NSW award winners. All are welcome to attend.

PSA Challenger 6

The PSA Challenger 6 joins the NSW Open to bring a week of exciting squash to NSW.

The event runs from Wednesday to Saturday at Thornleigh, with 24 players in each of the men’s and women’s draws, all competing for a $6,000 prize pool.

Leo Chung (HKG) is the top seed in the men’s draw, followed by Shing Fung Lam (HKG) and Eiad Daoud (EGY). Australia’s Thomas Scott is seeded fourth, with fellow Aussies Oscar Curtis and Benjamin Ratcliffe seeded fifth and sixth.

In the women’s draw, Akanksha Salunkhe (IND) is the top seed ahead of Ena Kwong (HKG) and Harleein Tan (MAS). Australia’s Erin Classen is seeded fifth, joined by fellow Aussies Sophie Fadaely and Maiden-Lee Coe (seeded sixth and eighth) and Hannah Slyth.

There are plenty of other talented Australian and international players in both draws. The finals are on Saturday 7 November, with the women’s at 3pm and the men’s at 4pm.

The PSA Challenger 6 will be livestreamed by SquashTV. Squash NSW members with a Local or Compete membership get free access as a membership perk, and the matches will also be streamed on YouTube.
