Squash Australia to host 2022 Gympie PSA Satellite event

Published Tue 15 Mar 2022

The 2022 Gympie PSA Satellite event is heading to Gympie Squash Racquets Association, Gympie from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 April with professional squash players from across Australia.

This is the second PSA Satellite event Gympie have held following the creation of the tournament last year to benefit players looking for a stepping stone to the PSA Tour.

The event is set to welcome some of the best PSA players in Australia as well as the up-and-coming players. After the success of the local event, which was run simultaneously with the Gympie PSA event in 2021, a graded invitational event will also be held.

Squash Australia CEO Robert Donaghue is looking forward to working with Gympie Council to bring this event to life once again.

“Squash Australia is looking forward to working with Gympie Regional Council to deliver the Gympie PSA Satellite event for the second consecutive year,” Donaghue said.

“The event will bring some of Australia’s top talent to the area and help to build awareness for squash in the region.

“We are pleased to work with the Gympie Council who have great facilities,” he said.

The event will take place at the Gympie Squash Racquets Association and entry is free to patrons who wish to come and watch the action.
