Squash Australia Selects 2026 Trans-Tasman Test Match Team

Published Tue 17 Feb 2026

Squash Australia is proud to announce the 18 young stars selected in the Australian team to take on New Zealand in the 2026 Trans-Tasman Test Match from 10-11 April 2026 in Melbourne.

The Australian team is searching for a three-peat, following their monumental success in winning last year in Hamilton, NZ, and clinching the series in Melbourne in 2024. In 2025, it was the first time Australia had won the shield away from home.

The Australian squad features a strong contingent of winners and finalists from the 2025 Australian Junior Championships including Jackson Wylie (U19 Boys champion), Sarbani Maitra (U19 Girls champion), Kasper Cheung (U17 Boys champion) and Tina Ma (U17 Girls champion). The team will also feature six debutants.

“This Test Match will give our young players good international experience, learn from the older athletes in the squad and hopefully inspire them in their young squash careers,” said Squash Australia’s National Pathways Coach Jenny Duncalf.

“We have a group of talented athletes who will be more determined than ever to win the series for the third time in a row. Following the success last year in defending the title in New Zealand, we’re confident this group has the potential to deliver another series victory,” Duncalf said.
