Squash Australia representatives finalists in 2026 Australian Pride in Sport Awards

Squash Australia is proud to be represented on the national stage following the announcement of finalists for the 2026 Australian Pride in Sport Awards, with two members of the squash community recognised for their contributions to LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport.
The prestigious awards celebrate individuals, organisations and initiatives driving meaningful change and inclusion across Australian sport, marking a decade of progress in 2026.
Shaun McEachin was named a finalist in the Executive Leadership Award category, recognising outstanding leadership and commitment to fostering inclusive environments within sport.
In addition, David Cowell has been shortlisted for the LGBTQ+ Role Model Award, highlighting his impact as an advocate and visible role model helping create a more inclusive squash community.
Their recognition reflects the continued efforts within squash to ensure the sport is welcoming, inclusive and accessible for all participants, regardless of sexuality or gender identity.
The Australian Pride in Sport Awards bring together leaders, athletes and organisations from across the sporting landscape to honour those making a difference in LGBTQ+ inclusion.
The 2026 event will be particularly significant, marking the 10-year anniversary of the awards and celebrating a decade of progress in inclusion across Australian sport.
