Squash Australia celebrates inclusion in Malta 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games

Squash Australia is delighted to announce that squash has been included in the 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games, set to take place in Malta across the islands of Malta and Gozo.
The announcement by Commonwealth Sport is a significant moment for squash in Australia, recognising the sport’s increasing popularity, international growth, and its role in developing future champions.
Robert Donaghue, CEO of Squash Australia, welcomed the announcement and highlighted the Games as a key platform for youth athlete development.
“We are absolutely delighted to see squash included in the Malta 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games. This is an incredible opportunity for our emerging talent to represent Australia on the world stage and gain valuable experience in a high-performance environment,” Donaghue said.
“The Commonwealth Youth Games are an important step in the pathway to senior international competition, and we are committed to supporting our young athletes as they prepare for this exciting milestone.”
Malta 2027 will welcome around 1,150 athletes aged 14–18 from 74 nations and territories. The Games will take place across four main venue clusters, with two Athlete Villages, showcasing Malta’s readiness and commitment to international sport.
“We look forward to building a strong team for Malta 2027 and giving our athletes every opportunity to thrive, both on and off the court,” Donaghue added.
