Squash Australia is pleased to announce Rydges South Bank Brisbane as the official accommodation partner of the 2026 Squash Australian Open.
A gold status event on the PSA Squash Tour, the Open is just one of seven gold events on the global calendar making it a priority event for the top athletes to attend and a thrilling spectator tournament for locals to watch.
With an incredible glass court to be positioned at South Bank Piazza just a short walk from Rydges South Bank, the hotel is the perfect home away from home for athletes, their families and officials arriving from overseas and interstate.
Squash Australia CEO Robert Donaghue said it was fantastic to have Rydges onboard again in 2026 after the success of the inaugural partnership in 2025.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Rydges South Bank again for the Squash Australian Open,” he said. “In 2025 we had record crowds enjoy all the on-court action along with the many offerings available within the entertainment precinct and we believe that 2026 will be even bigger and better.”
Rydges is situated just across the road from where the competition is held in the South Bank Piazza providing the world’s best athletes with luxury accommodation and amenities to perform at their best, while its renowned views of the Brisbane River will have our international visitors wanting to say longer to enjoy the city and its surrounds.”
Rydges South Bank General Manager Scott Wright was equally thrilled to extend their association with Australia’s marquee squash event.
“We’re excited to once again partner with Squash Australia as their official accommodation partner for 2026." said Wright.
"Last year brought a fantastic energy to the precinct; Rydges and the wider South Bank came alive with players, fans and officials. It was a real highlight seeing everyone come together and enjoy the atmosphere, and we’re proud to be part of it again. We can’t wait to welcome the squash community back next year."
Rydges South Bank Brisbane is in the heart of Brisbane’s arts and entertainment precinct and less than five minutes’ walk from South Bank Piazza. The South Bank parklands reflect rainforest, lagoon and beach environments with The Arbour, a stunning a flower-covered walkway, winding through the precinct providing a magical experience for post competition strolls.
Squash Australia and Rydges South Bank Brisbane will soon announce exclusive accommodation deals with bonus inclusions for those attending the event. Stay tuned to Squash Australia channels and the Squash Australian Open pages for more information.
