Opening day of Teams Event comes to a close at the 2025 AJC

Queensland sits atop the Division 1 ladder at the close of play on the first day of the 2025 AJC Teams Event held in Ballarat.

The Sunshine State put on a strong display in their first round match to defeat South Australia 16-0. Hosts Victoria also enjoyed a first up win in the opening round to rattle Western Australia 11-5 in the morning session.

NSW got their campaign underway in Round 2 which kicked off the afternoon at Ballarat Squash & Racquetball Fitness Centre. They would power through to inflict Victoria’s first loss 11-5 and clinch second position on the ladder.

Meanwhile, Western Australia were able to bounce back from their earlier defeat to register their first win, downing South Australia 10-6 to close out the final Division 1 fixture of the evening.

Division 1 Standings

NSW hold a narrow lead on the Division 2 ladder after securing a wins across their scheduled fixtures for the day. NSW were too strong for Tasmania in their morning session, claiming a 7-1 victory. Before taking down Queensland 4-17-293 - 4-12-228 in a highly competitive Round 2 contest, with total game points splitting the two opponents.

Hosts Victoria sit in second place after tight win against a resilient ACT 5-3 earlier in the day. Before continuing their push into the afternoon with a 5-3 defeat of Tasmania.

Western Australia rounded out the winner’s circle in Division 2, wrapping up the day with a win over ACT 4-14-206 - 4-12-204.
