Oceania Junior Championships Set for Three Days of Action

Published Thu 16 Apr 2026

More than 250 of the region’s top junior squash players will take to the court at the 2026 Oceania Junior Championships, set to be held from 17-19 April at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in Albert Park, Victoria.

Bringing together athletes from around eight countries, the Championships will showcase the depth of emerging talent across the Oceania region, with players competing across multiple age divisions in a fast-paced three days of competition.

The event is a key fixture on the junior calendar, offering valuable international experience and the chance for players to test themselves against the best in the region. With national pride on the line, the Oceania Junior Championships consistently deliver high-quality matches and strong team performances.

The event follows the successful 2026 Australian Junior Open, where emerging Australian talent Joanne Joseph and Kasper Cheung were crowned U19 champions.

As their attention now turns towards this tournament, both are motivated to add another medal to a golden week so far.

“Honestly, I can’t take anything for granted. I just have to keep going with the same positive outlook and determination because with all of these players, it’s just whoever is best on the day.

“I’ve had a great week but I’ve got to keep pushing. The next three days - super focused, and hopefully I can get back to the finals and get the win,” Joseph said.

Kasper Cheung said the win at the Australian Junior Open does give him confidence heading into the three days ahead.

“I can’t get too excited though. I just need to reset and we go again.

“If I can win this one, I can win the next one. I just need to back myself and keep grinding away,” he said.

Fans will be able to follow the action via the Squash Australia website, where live results and draws will be available throughout the event. The event will also be livestreamed with key matches shown daily.

With a strong field and plenty at stake, the 2026 Oceania Junior Championships promises an exciting showcase of the next generation of squash talent in the region.
