Following the highly-anticipated Australian Junior Open next week in Melbourne, many of the best young players in the region will return to take part in the Oceania Junior Championships.

The three-day event starts on Friday 12 April with 260 players set to take part in one of the biggest OJC tournaments in history.

“As always, the biggest contingents will be from Australia and New Zealand, however we also have a large group of players representing New Caledonia,” said Tamika Hunt, Squash Australia National Lead - Competitions and Events.

“We also have players from Papua New Guinea, Norfolk Island and Fiji as well as other intercontinental countries like Malaysia and Japan.

“We’re going to see more than 700 matches played over the three days of competition which will hopefully be another step in the growth of this popular tournament.”

Half of the 10 draws see returning champions as top seeds, with Madison Lyon (AUS, Girls Under 19), Brodie Bennett (NZL, Boys Under 17), Henry Kross (AUS, Boys Under 15), Tina Ma (AUS, Girls Under 15) and Thomas Wang (AUS, Boys Under 13) defending their 2023 crowns.

The 2024 Oceania Junior Championships at Melbourne Sports Centres starts on Friday 12 April with Glass Show Court (Court 1) matches being streamed LIVE on SquashAUS.TV .
