NVW 2025 | National Volunteer Database

Published Mon 19 May 2025

National Volunteer Week starts today and is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering.
National Volunteer Week 2025 celebrates the power of volunteering to bring people together with the theme ‘Connecting Communities’.
One way in which Squash Australia is looking to stay connected to passionate members of the squash community is by the establishment of a National Volunteer Database.

This will enable Squash Australia to build a register of passionate members who are keen to volunteer within clubs and at events Australia wide.

Those on the National Volunteer Database will be first to hear about development opportunities, resources and callouts for volunteers at major events including the Squash Australian Open and World Squash Masters Championships.

“One of the really great parts of the 2025 Easy Times Brewing Co. Squash Australian Open was our army of volunteers who did everything from checking tickets to keeping the glass court spotless,” said Tamika Hunt, Squash Australia Events Director. “At the event we had so many people asking how they could be a part of next year’s event and most of this year’s volunteers have already indicated they would once again like to take part in 2026.

“On the back of this, we’re establishing a National Volunteer Database so passionate and generous members of the squash community can be the first to hear about opportunities to contribute to events across the country.

“We’re keen to build the database in all states and territories, allowing us to bring volunteers on board for all levels of events including our national and international tournaments such as the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships, Trans Tasman Test Series and Oceania Junior Championships.”
