Kooyong to Host World Championships Qualifiers for Second Year in a Row

Squash Australia has confirmed Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club will be the host venue once again for the 2026 World Championships Qualification event for Oceania from 26-29 March 2026.

The event will determine the two Oceania qualifiers for the 2026 PSA World Championships to be held in Giza, Egypt from 8-16 May 2026. The winner of the men’s and women’s draws will earn the opportunity to compete on squash’s biggest stage.

Kooyong will welcome elite athletes from across the Oceania region for the second time in a row. Aussies Rhys Dowling and Jess van der Walt took out the Oceania qualifiers last year and booked their tickets for the World Championships held in Chicago, which helped bolster experience and world rankings.

Kooyong have a host of local PSA players including Dylan Molinaro and Sarah Cardwell who will be keen to pursue a spot in the finals, and ultimately don the green and gold in Egypt, with support from their home club.

Squash Australia CEO Rob Donaghue said the organisation was proud to once again host the Oceania qualification pathway to the World Championships.

“The PSA World Championships represents the pinnacle of our sport and this qualification event plays a crucial role in ensuring Oceania’s top athletes have the opportunity to compete on the world stage,” he said.

“Australia has a rich World Championships legacy, and events like this not only honour that history but help shape the next generation of players aiming to test themselves against the very best in the world.”

Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club CEO Ian Robson said the club is delighted to partner with Squash Australia again to host the event.

“Kooyong has a long and proud association with squash and we are thrilled to be welcoming the best players from across the region to compete at our venue.”

The event is proudly supported through the Commonwealth Games Australia Green2Gold2Great investment program, which helps Australian athletes and events on the pathway to international success.
