Squash Australia is proud to announce a partnership with Karrinyup for the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships, set to take place in Perth from 30 August to 6 September 2026.

As part of this unique collaboration, the world-class retail destination will host a purpose-built all-glass squash court at its centre, providing a one-of-a-kind sporting showcase for visitors and fans.

As Western Australia’s largest shopping centre and a central hub for more than 13.4 million visitors annually, Karrinyup will provide an unprecedented platform for global squash athletes to compete in full public view. The “centre takeover” planned during the event will transform the retail precinct into a vibrant sporting arena, offering both world class high-performance action and community engagement in one of Perth’s most iconic venues.

The World Squash Masters Championships is set to attract thousands of international and domestic competitors aged 35 and over alongside their families, spectators, officials, and sport tourists to the region. This partnership underscores the event’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, legacy and community integration.

Squash Australia CEO Robert Donaghue said the collaboration reflects Squash Australia’s bold approach to bringing squash to the broader public to continue to grow the game from grass roots through to elite.

“The opportunity to stage world-class squash in such a high-traffic, high-profile location like Karrinyup is a game-changer for the sport. This partnership puts squash front and centre – literally – and showcases the energy, excitement, and inclusiveness of the World Masters to new audiences.”

Trudy Cook, Centre General Manager at Karrinyup, welcomed the partnership with Squash Australia:

“We’re proud to be partnering with Squash Australia to bring this unique event to the heart of Karrinyup. Hosting the striking glass court right here at our centre will create an exciting atmosphere for spectators and offer our community a rare chance to connect with this international sport in a dynamic and engaging way.”

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said the City was proud to be sponsoring the championships.

“The City of Stirling is going to be the centre of the squash world next year – and we can’t wait. From the games in Mirrabooka to the finals at the magnificent glass show court in Karrinyup, it’s going to be a fantastic week. We’re looking forward to welcoming a huge contingent of interstate and international visitors.”

Garry Irwin, Chair of the World Squash Masters Commission, added: “It is exciting to have the all-glass court set up in Karrinyup for the forthcoming 2026 World Squash Masters Championships. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on this court which will be a centre piece of the Championships”.
