Karrinyup to host free Squash Stars school holiday activation ahead of 2026 World Squash Masters Championships

Squash Australia is excited to announce that Karrinyup Shopping Centre will host a free Squash Stars school holiday activation from 6-8 July 2026, giving Perth families an early taste of the excitement ahead of the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships.

The family-friendly program will give children the chance to try squash for the first time in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment, in a fitting lead-up to the world-class competition coming to Perth later this year. Squash Stars is a national program designed to ignite a lifelong passion for the sport in young people through engaging, age-appropriate activities.

The activation comes as Karrinyup prepares to take on a central role in the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships, which will be held in Perth from 30 August to 6 September. The centre will host all semi-finals and finals of the Championships on a purpose-built all-glass show court in the heart of the precinct, transforming one of WA's most iconic retail destinations into a world-class sporting arena, free for all ages to attend.

Karrinyup will also support the Championships' interstate and international visitors with the launch of the Karrinyup Tourist Passport in July. The curated destination guide features premium guest services, exclusive retailer offers and curated Perth itineraries designed specifically for visitors from outside WA. Copies will be provided to all interstate and international athletes, support crews, officials and visitors attending the Championships.

Squash Australia CEO Robert Donaghue said the Squash Stars activation is a highlight of the lead-up to the Championships.

"Having Squash Stars at Karrinyup during the school holidays is the perfect way to build excitement for what's coming in August. Kids who pick up a racquet for the first time this July could be watching world-class masters athletes compete on the same glass court just weeks later - that's a pretty powerful thing for our sport.”

Karrinyup Centre General Manager, Trudy Cooksaid the centre is looking forward to welcoming Perth families ahead of what promises to be a landmark event for the city.

"We are proud to create unique experiences at Karrinyup that bring our community together. Squash Stars is a fantastic opportunity to introduce Perth families to a sport they may never have tried before, and to inspire the next generation of players ahead of the World Squash Masters Championships coming to the heart of our centre this August.”

The Squash Stars activation runs from 6–8 July at Karrinyup with more dates expected to be added in the school holidays. Bookings and further information are available here.

The 2026 World Squash Masters Championships is a non-ticketed event and free for all ages and sporting fans to attend. It will be held in Perth from 30 August to 6 September, with . Further information is available here.
