Joseph Books Top 30 Finish with Thrilling Five-Setter at World Juniors

Our Aussies continued their strong showing in Ontario, Canada at the 2026 World Squash Junior Championships, with Joanne Joseph the standout on a day of nail-biting finishes.

Joseph secured a top 30 finish at the event after a thrilling 3-2 victory over USA's Ava Lin Jr, closing out the match 13-11 in the fifth.

Sarbani Maitra will have the chance to join Joseph in the top 30 tomorrow after falling just short in an equally tight 3-2 battle today.

Henry Kross wrapped up his first World Junior Championships individual campaign in style, backing up for another day of back-to-back wins.

Tina Ma and Lilly Wilson both recorded 3-1 victories to keep their top 50 finish hopes alive, while Stanley Chung split his two matches with a win and a loss.

Kasper Cheung joined Ethan Middleton on the sidelines as he manages an injury heading into next week's teams event.

All remaining Aussies will play their final individual matches tomorrow before the squad turns its attention to the teams event.
