Published Tue 16 Apr 2024

Australia has won the 2024 Junior Trans Tasman Test Series at Melbourne Sports Centres, winning 10 matches today and clinching the title.

Holding a 10-16 advantage after the opening day, Australia required seven wins to take the series.

While Joel Raj got Australia off to a quick start, New Zealand won the next three matches to close the margin to 11-9.

The home team quickly regained momentum, with victories to Henry Kross, Tina Ma, William Slade, Marcus Wang and Emmy Lamb taking Australia to the brink of victory.

When Sarbani Maitra closed out a four-game victory against Aria Bannister, Australia picked up its 17th win and an unassailable victory margin.

Though the rubbers were dead, Kasper Cheung, Hannah Slyth and Madison Lyon also collected victories on the final day.
