Aussies Battle in Round of 32 Clashes at World Juniors

Our Aussies continue to put their names on the world stage in Ontario, Canada for the 2026 World Squash Junior Championshsips.

In the Round of 32, Joanne Joseph fought bravely in her match up with the top 10 seed Laura Silva. The upset of the tournament was on the cards after Joseph raced out to a 2-0 lead, however the Brazilian fought back strongly to win 3-2.

Sarbani Maitra also had a tough Round of 32 match against top 10 seed Helen Tang and lost 3-0.

Outside the main draw, Henry Kross was a notable result, losing 3-2 in a gruelling one hour and 13 minute match to one of the top Canadians who was originally seeded 25/32.

The team will continue to play out matches in the individual tournament to determine their final placings ahead of the teams event next week.
