2026 Australian Junior Championships preview

The nation’s best junior squash players will descend on Devonport, Tasmania for the 2026 Australian Junior Championships (AJC), with Australia’s next generation of squash talent set to battle for national titles across seven days of competition.

The AJC is the pinnacle junior squash event in Australia, bringing together the country’s leading players across five age groups; Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19, with individual and team national championships up for grabs.

The individual championships will be contested from September 27–30, before players return to the court from October 1–3 for the Teams Event, where the best junior players from each state will join forces in the race for national team honours.

Hosted at the Devonport Squash Centre, the tournament will feature both boys' and girls' competitions, with matches played as best-of-five games using the PAR 11 scoring system.

The Under 19 divisions will provide an opportunity for some of Australia's most experienced juniors to compete for the ultimate national junior title, while the younger age groups will showcase players looking to establish themselves as the next generation of Australian squash stars.

With the tournament designated an AJST Platinum Event, ranking points will be on offer as players look to build their standing on the Australian Junior Squash Tour.

The competition will also provide an important pathway opportunity for players targeting future representation at Australian and international level, with many of the country's leading junior players using the AJC as a springboard towards higher honours.

The 2026 Australian Junior Championships will officially begin on Sunday, September 27, with the individual competition running through Wednesday, September 30.

The championship function will also take place in Devonport on September 30, with presentations for all age divisions and the MC Hazel Best & Fairest award.
