2025 Oceania Regional Championships Preview

The stage is set as the 2025 Oceania Regional Championships, supported by Belle Property, kicks off from midday at Sandgate Squash Centre, QLD.

Jessica van der Walt is the defending champion and top seed in the women’s event and will commence her title defense at her home club against fellow Queenslander Shona Coxsedge on Thursday evening. Last year’s runner-up and second seed Alexandra Haydon (SA) will start her campaign this evening against current AST leader Pascale Louka (WA).

One of the matches of the day in the women’s draw will be the clash between Sophie Fadaely (QLD) and Erin Classen (WA). The pair are ranked No. 5 and 6 respectively in Australia and have drawn each other in their first match of the event this evening.

Nothern Territory’s Joseph White reached the semi-finals in 2024 and is the top seed in the Men's draw. White will kick off his campaign in Round 2 on Friday Morning after a first round bye. New Zealand’s Elijah Thomas, also a semi-finalist last year, comes into the event as the second seed and will also start his campaign on Friday morning. Thomas is seeded to meet current AST Leader Brendan MacDonald (QLD) in the quarter-finals on Friday evening if both players make it through their Round 2 opponents.

  • Eligibility: Players from Oceania Federation Member Nations and those under the Oceania Region on PSA are eligible.Australian players must be affiliated with Squash Australia.
