The Squash Stars Leader courses are short online programs designed to prepare leaders to deliver Squash Stars sessions in either community clubs or Sporting Schools. They outline the core principles, resources, and requirements of the program, ensuring sessions are delivered to a consistent and safe standard. Certification is valid only until 1 July each year, after which leaders must re-take the course.
What is the Squash Stars Leader Course
The course provides the essential knowledge and resources to run Squash Stars programs effectively, including the program’s aims, delivery standards, and supporting tools. Leaders gain an understanding of coaching principles, program structure, and session delivery expectations to ensure high-quality, engaging experiences for participants.
How is the Course Applied
Both the Clubs and Sporting Schools courses are delivered fully online, taking about one hour to complete at the learner’s own pace. Candidates must work through all modules (ten for Clubs, nine for Sporting Schools), completing quizzes throughout and a final test to achieve certification. Leaders are not considered practising coaches and are strongly encouraged to operate under the supervision of accredited Squash Australia coaches.
Who is Eligible
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and hold current Squash Australia membership. For the Clubs course, candidates must already hold Foundation Level Coaching Certification. For the Sporting Schools course, candidates must be registered providers through Squash Stars Sporting Schools on OfficialsHQ. All leaders must also hold a valid Working with Children Check and agree to Squash Australia’s Coaches Code of Behaviour and Protective Eyewear Indemnity.
