Australia readies for World Doubles Championships

After a year and a half in the role, Squash Australia’s National Head Coach Stewart Boswell will lead Australia into his first international competition as coach when the WSF World Doubles Championships begin on 5 April. The former World No.4 was appointed to the National Coach role in spring 2020 but it’s been a long wait to see if and when Boswell would be able to lead an Australian team with the 2021 WSF Men's World Team Squash Championship and 2020 WSF World Junior Championships cancelled.

Squash Australia to host 2022 Gympie PSA Satellite event

The 2022 Gympie PSA Satellite event is heading to Gympie Squash Racquets Association, Gympie from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 April with professional squash players from across Australia. This is the second PSA Satellite event Gympie have held following the creation of the tournament last year to benefit players looking for a stepping stone to the PSA Tour.

WSF statement regarding WSF World Junior Championships

Earlier today, the Board of the World Squash Federation (WSF) held an extraordinary meeting to confirm WSF’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The WSF World Junior Championships 2022, scheduled to be played 9-20 August in St. Petersburg, Russia, will be relocated from Russia to an alternative venue, details of which shall be released in due course.

Grinham and Hedrick take out Roberts & Morrow North Coast Open

Rachael Grinham and Rex Hedrick have won the Roberts & Morrow North Coast Open PSA Challenger Tour event in Coffs Harbour after victories in the men’s and women’s open respectively. It was the first event in 10 months to be held at Coffs Harbour after tournaments were postponed due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions. Alex Haydon eyes green and gold in 2022

It’s been a blistering start to the year for Alex Haydon. The up-and-coming squash player won the women’s event at the Australian Open Doubles in January, alongside Rachael Grinham. Two weeks later, she took out the top prize in the women’s singles at the Gold Coast Open PSA, beating the likes of former world no.1 Grinham and 2018 Commonwealth Games representative Tamika Hunt.
