The 2023 Australian Junior Squash Championships are set to be held in Brisbane later this year with Australia’s best under 19 players ready to do battle in one of the biggest events on the national calendar.

The week-long tournament will be held at Daisy Hill Squash & Racquet club and is proudly supported by Logan City Council.

Individual competitions will be contested from under 11s through to the prestigious under 19 age group. The individual event will run from 26 to 28 September followed by the state/territory-nominated teams event from 29 September to 1 October.

“The Australian Junior Squash Championships has a long and storied history dating back to the 1950s and another chapter will be written at Daisy Hill later this year,” said Robert Donaghue, Squash Australia CEO. “Some of the greatest names in Australian squash have tasted success at the tournament including Michelle Martin, Geoff Hunt, Sarah Fiitzgerald, Rachael and Natalie Grinham, David Palmer and Chris Dittmar, to name just a handful.

“It’s a big year for junior squash in Australia with Melbourne hosting the World Junior Championships in July, but we’re already excited to get up to the City of Logan in September for some great action on the court and some just as good local hospitality off of it.”

City of Logan Mayor Darren Power is looking forward to welcoming players, coaches, parents and families from all across Australia for the prestigious event.

“Logan has a passionate and dedicated squash community,” Cr Power said. “The Australian Junior Squash Championships are a fantastic opportunity for emerging junior talent to shine on the national stage.

“We look forward to hosting Australia’s best junior squash players later this year.”

Entries for the 2023 Australian Junior Squash Championships will open three months out from the event in late-June.
